Lithos Energy
From September 2022 to Febrary 2023I worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Lithos Energy.

Lithos is a battery manufacturing company that designs both LV and HV products depending on customer requirements and use. I worked on the R&D side to make LV batteries for marine applications.

Battery Pack Development
I designed and built a series of experiments, that included the construction of specialized fixtures, to evaluate the performance of various sealing adhesives. The tests I conducted included 3 Point Bending, Shear, 90 Degree Peel, Drop, and Impact tests, to validate and optimize adhesive selections.

I also implemented Finite Element Analysis to enhance the structural integrity of battery pack enclosures. During initial burst testing the battery pack fell apart in a destructive way with a lot of plastic shards. The implementation of Finite Element Analysis was the result of attempting to design an intentional weak point to address this issue.
In house manufacturing and Rapid Design Turnaround
I made manufacturing instructions for associates for battery construction.

When issues occurred with nonconforming parts, I quickly designed around the problem and made quick adjustments.
